Sekura won this year’s Australian Fraud Award for “Highly Commended” in the Best Newcomer category with the patent-pending SlideTag™ solution. The award ceremony took place on the evening of Retail Risk Conference – Sydney. The Fraud Awards showcase and celebrate the very best in retail fraud and loss prevention, people, processes, strategy and technology.
This comes after the SlideTag’s shortlisting for the Retail Knowledge 2018 North American Fraud Awards. The SlideTag™ was shortlisted for the “Best Newcomer” category, which recognizes “the most exciting new vendor or solution to enter the retail risk and loss prevention arena, supplying any part of the risk and loss prevention industry.” The revolutionary SlideTag was also shortlisted in the 2017 UK Fraud Awards, in the same category.
The patent-pending SlideTag is an innovative development in security tagging solutions. Chris Napthine, Director of Operations at Sekura Global and SlideTag inventor, said: “The safety-conscious design eliminates a number of Health & Safety risks, commonly associated with standard pin tagging – a particular benefit for items like children’s wear, where the onus of care is more significant – while also making application and removal extremely quick and easy.”
Mark Emmott, Director at Retail Knowledge, said: “The inaugural Australian Fraud Awards was outstanding. Set in a breath-taking location overlooking an illuminated night-scape of Sydney Harbour, the Awards recognized outstanding achievement over the previous 12 months in the hope of inspiring others to do even better.
“Despite being the first event of its kind, all categories were hotly contested, and our independent panel of judges had some very difficult decisions to make. To even make the shortlist of nominees was a great achievement. And those who were either Highly Commended or Winners in an Awards category should be doubly proud.”
Carina Lewis, VP of Global Sales at Sekura Global, said: “We are extremely proud that SlideTag is recognized for this Fraud Award. Being the first one-piece hard EAS tag with a completely concealed pin, it was developed specifically to meet the challenges of safety-conscious retailers.”
The Retail Fraud Awards are now held three times a year, on three continents – North America, Europe and Australia – and are run by the Retail Risk Conference Series. Sekura Global has been shortlisted for both Best Newcomer and Most Innovative In-Store Solution, with the SlideTag and our flagship Self-Retracting BoxGrip, at each of the last three Retail Fraud Awards from around the world.
